Moving already
8 months in this hobby and I already have to move. I wish I could sell it and upgrade but I wouldn't make anything back and boy would it suck. Anyways I need a guide, tips, information etc. on moving my tank. It's a 1 1/2 hour trip from Gainesville to Jacksonville, FL and the tank is 55 gallons. My main concerns are moving the tank. I'm going to get a few rubbermaids and load those up with water. I'll put all the fish in the big seperate rubbermaids and the corals idk whether to bag or put in buckets. I'll probably bag and put in some styrofoam peanuts in a box. I plan on netting the fish up beforehand whenever the lights come on so they're partially blind. The one thing I will not be doing is breaking down the rock. I've already cemented the rocks down and really do not want to reaquascape to be honest. The sandbed is established so I will leave about 1/2" of water in there above the bed. My plan is to have a sturdy 1/2-1" think board under the tank to relieve stress on the bottom panel and about 6 people move the tank a good 30 feet from the living room to the suv. I will break down all the equipment and sump first before messing with the main tank. Let me know what you guys think and please share some helpful info such as how to get my livestock out.
