Just noticed that my skimmer wasn't producing an overflow into the cup above it, my local Aqua Dude told me that I may have had a bio overload, though he was unsure.

He says his other customers with the Red Sea Max were complaining too.

Ph- 8
Nitrate- 10
Nitrite- 0.2-0.4 sometime but rare
Ammonia- 0.2

Water change weekly and I add about 1-2 gallons weekly to make up for the the evaporated water.

Don't know whats wrong with this thing. Tank was fine since Nov. now its going through menopause.

Any ideas?

my main concern is why the hell did ur salt level get so low? what kind of salt are you using? and how often are you doing water changes? as for the phytoplankton how much are you putting in your tank twice a week? i put phyto in my tank twice a week also and have no slime or anything else mentioned in the previous post. what size tank do u have? what are your parameters? have u even checked them yet? lots of questions for you to answer to get to the bottom of this problem.
