Fish will be fine if you feed them a couple times a week ( depending on load ) and will survive just fine with the pods in the tank, algae and whatever else they can find over a two week period if you felt so inclined NOT to feed them for a couple weeks.

The fish are fine... Feed less and you won't even have to worry about nitrates or phosphates at all..
