Group Buy From Neptune Systems
Hi all,
Im trying to startup a group buy with neptune systems, the people who make the Aquacontroller. Im getting a Aquacontroller Jr. system, and i think that gonzapa is getting one too.
I emailed their sale team today, and they will be emailing me soon, with a discount I hope.
So anyways, post whatever you guys want to be ordering.
Thanks guys,
Mike

K, they said that they could not offer any person group discounts direct, as they dont supply to the consumer. Im emailing premium aquatics
ONly problem is, premium aquatics is alot more expensive to buy the same thing. if the discount isnt great, then we might as well just order no discount from neptune systems.
Ill see what they email me tomorrow.
I also emailed thereefstop.com, which is the other site the guys at Neptune Systems sent me to. This site is better, as without a discount they are the cheapest. Will post both emails tomorrow. ake

that is only a solution for one person, while we have maybe six or seven people that want to buy it. If we get it new, there is still a possibility of it being more expensive than if we did a discounted purchase from a store. Also, stuff from ebay and craigslist is not always in the condition that one wants it in, so we can get it much cheaper and much more effectively if we do a group buy, as we know it is going to be at one price, and it will all be new.

I did a neptune controller group buy from Premium Aquatics. They were the cheapest price I found. 3 or more = 5% off; 6 or more = 10%. Hope that helps.
What are you going to do with shipping since you are in FL?

Charlie, i just looked, and for the package that gonzapa and i are doing, it is 80 dollars more at premium aquatics than at thereefstop.
For shipping, there are two choices that I am willing to do.
1 - All of this is shipped to a person in New York, and that one person distributes it, and ill pay them to ship it to me.
2 - All of this is shipped to me, and I distribute it and ship it out.
Up to you guys, Im up for suggestions.

Can we not bring an argument here also, from now on, only post if one are interested in buying something, or want to express your opinion on buying something.
The reason me and gonzapa dont want an ebay purchase is:
1 - They are not always reputable sellers.
2 - They dont sell in bulk. I dont want to have to win 6 or 7 different auctions in order to get the stuff.
3 - You may find stuff 50% off at a starting price, but then it gets bidded up to original or more.
4 - You are not guaranteed to get the stuff.
5 - I have never seen something that is new 50% off, unless it was crushed at the store or something, lol.
6 - Group buys from a store often involve 10-20% off, and the shipping is standard, so in the end, it is much much MUCH cheaper than eBay.
There is a reason that no one does group buys of multiple things on eBay. Everyone wants to customize their packages, and they want quality stuff.
Customer service at Premium Aquatics and The Reef Stop is closed till Monday, they will probably have written me then.
If there is a formidable discount, then I want to try and get an order in by May 18, or sooner.

i just dont trust ebay i have heard horror stories and being that i work for fedex we have had incidents where people use bogus addresses and sell stuff then when its a "lemon" they sell and it needs to be returned the address is bogus so it sits in the warehouse or the person who bought it gets it back and is S#!t out of luck

no one is, i just dont want one to start. sorry about your horror stories, i had that happen to me once. damn ebay people.
Anyways, I have looked at other forums and it seems that if we order in the neighborhood of around $2000 dollars worth, then they give about 15%-20% off. One happened on RC, and they got 25%, but that was a 30 person group buy.
