Default ID please...

Would someone please ID this interesting life form in my 28 gallon nano?

I was thinking it's some sort of mushroom coral as it has actually relocated itself about an inch from where I first saw it. I have been target feeding it along with some hitchhiker zoanthids that I have and it does close up on cyclop-eeze and seems to be getting larger and showing more color.

By the way, hello everyone...I'm new around here.

Tough to tell from the Picture but I would say it looks as if its either a mushroom or some sort of Zoanthid...

Thanks for the welcome and the information. I was thinking it looks like a Rhodactis or a Discosoma, but I have no idea what it really is. I guess it's a nice freebie though.

Oh and there are actually two of them on opposite sides of the same piece of live rock...they have both moved short distances to new spots on the rock. You can also see the other one behind my Chalk Bass in my gallery.

if they have moved then i would be sure that they are mini carpet anemones, they normaly sell for 20 to 30 and some come with really nice colors. yours looks nice for sure. Get a better picture.

True, although free-living mushroom coral can actually move...slowly, but Corallimorphs are pretty much considered to be anemones anyway. I just like to know what everything is, but it looks like I will have to wait a few months and see how they turn out.

It's hard to get a good picture right now as they are so small.
