Default hey reeferscafe!

Hello everybody! I'm shane, I've been in the reefkeeping hobby for a little over 3yrs now, and I love learning new things everyday! I started the hobby with a 29g biocube, within 6m I had way outgrown it. I modded my own skimmer for it, drilled it for a sump, and upgraded the baby p.c. lights in it...I moved up to an oceanic 58g non drilled with a cpr h.o.b overflow and 29g gallon sump/fuge that I baffled from an old freshwater setup I used to have. After 1yr of the h.o.b overflow, it quit while I was at work and flooded my 2nd floor apt.....soooo, I drilled the back of the tank. Now, last weekend I moved up to an aquarium masters 75g reef ready elite, with the same 29g sump/fuge. Reef octopus extreme 160 will be here this weekend to retire the coralife super skimmer I've had since the beginning of my introduction to the hobby. Gsago1979 came up and helped with the upgrade to the 75. I will try to post more than just the one pic later this afternoon!!!!

Welcome Shane, glad to see your intro post...Looking forward to watching the progression of your new 75, the stand and lights looked great in person, cannot wait to see if all stocked up soon...

I started with 30Long, well technically with 10Gallon local species tank.

Quickly went from 30 to 135 to 180. No space for anything bigger.

Welcome to ReefersCafe Shane and Happy B-Day!!

Thanks! I have 3 perc clowns, pair of pj cards, talbot damsel, chromis, and a niger trigger. I had a lot more, but the trigger was crowded in the 58, and felt he needed to make room for himself by killing my firefish, diamond goby, 5 chromis, and my algae blenny....lol...as far as corals, I have about 20 differnt varities of zoas and palys. tons of mushrooms, ricordias, daisy polyps, GSP, pompom xenia, and my prized bright green aussie hammer in the center bottom of the tank. My maxima clam is on the bridge connecting the two islands. Going to be getting a few sps for the peaks of both islands. My lighting includes 2 reef optix pendants with 250w hqi 20k xm bulbs. And as soon as I can get my canopy built, I have 2 4ft vho actinics and 4 1w led moonlights to go along with the mh...thanks again for the welcome, and the b-day wishes....lol....
