No. I took that out months ago. I had issues with ph dropping last winter. Figured it was indoor CO2 levels so unhooked it and aimed the powerhead up to ripple the surface. Seems to help.

Tank is going through some changes right now. Having softies for so long got old. Pulling out trees and xenia almost daily. Might trade a few of my maxi minis for store credit. I need some parts to get the next tank going. I got some new frags today so when they settle in a bit, I'll get some pics. Now that the big trees are gone, it looks naked and I dont like where anything is so I got some re-arranging to do.
As for the asterinas....I saw about a dozen tiny ones while poking around in there earlier. The harlequin is a machine! I'm gonna try an experiment with him this week. Since his food is rapidly dwindling, I'm gonna get a chocolate chip to feed him. I'm gonna chop up some legs and freeze them. No idea if he will eat them...if he does...great. If not I know someone with an asterina problem worse than mine so he'll go to a good home.

that is good news man, glad to hear it is not a huge problem anymore. So are you going more LPS or SPS?

I'm thinking mostly SPS but who knows. I'm not going to go all out till after the holidays so there is plenty of time to plan. I have a tall 40 and 2 standard 55's and haven't decided which I want to use for a display. They both have their pros and cons.
The frags I got yesterday(shouldn't call them frags...they're huge) are some zoas and 3 different monti's. An orange digitata, Idaho purple grape cap and a superman monti. Tried getting pics of the superman last night but I cant get the camera setup right to get the pic. Either really blue or really red or just blurry. I'll try to get more later.

Wow, I've really been gone to long.
Beautiful softie tank, can't wait to see with the next setup.

Just my .02; I'd go with the 55!

the more volume of water you have the easier it will be for SPS i think, sounds like you got some really nice frags man.

Looking forward to seeing your new pix!

I'd sell these 2 and go with a 40 breeder. I'm hearing that Petco has $1 a gallon again and 40 breeder is included.

Here is what my tank looked like for the longest time.

Almost all the trees and most of the xenia is gone now so when I get everything moved to where I like it I'll take another FTS. Here are some pics of my new frags.

The 40 that I have is 36X24X12. My concernes with it was getting enough light down to the bottom. I want to stay with T-5's and worry that it wont cut it. I'll have to check petco....I believe a 40 breeder is 6" shorter and would work perfect. Then I could use my 40 for the sump. Origionally I wanted to use my 40 for DT and a 55 for sump but that would make the stand a lot longer than I wanted for the DT. Hmmmmm......what to do.
