i have a 24g, my clown fish and shrimp died this morning. when i got up and truned my the light on for my tank i noticed its was very cloudy and there was a brown scum on the edge of glass. it was ever where. i had to scrap it to just see it the tank..
i did a water change and unplugged the protein kipper because it wasn't working right. the brown scum that was all over the glass is the same stuff that's in my protein skimmer.
all of my coal looks fine and i need 2 5g buckets water changes this morning.
last night i also did a water change, put this stuff call aquavitro calcification-raises & maintains calcium and turned the protein skimmer off
please help any idea's

Is this the first time you put this invention so called Aquavitro in your tank?

SOrry to hear about your tank issues, water change was definitely a great idea but don't understand why you used the calcium supplement if you had just done a water change. What caused that skimmate stuff to be in your display tank? turning the skimmer back on might actually help more.

Shrimp are very sensitive to water changes, so they usually go faster than other livestock. find the root of the problem before you start dosing, have you tested your water?

Test your water and post your readings here. Without knowing your water parameters it's really hard to help troubleshoot.

I have to agree with Bio about skimmer. If anything you should keep it running.
