So I found some aptasia in my tank. It is on the stalk for my hammer coral. There are about 2-3 evident aptasia. Can I get a pole real quick on what works getting rid of these demons? I tried a peppermint shrimp... apparently I don't know how to acclimate shrimp because the thing died in the container I was drip acclimating it in. It did not even touch my tank! I paid 15 bucks for the thing because only one store had it in town and he was one of the more expensive ones... so now I have thrown 15 bucks at a problem that is no closer to being solved. Maybe my tank at 5 months still cannot sustain a shrimp? Anyways... I want the aptasia out. I was thinking Joes Juice but cannot find it in town. I will have to order it online and hope this demon does not spread. Any thoughts?

Be careful when you use any treatment because you might nuke the hammer too. Can you scrape them off? Are they attached to crevice/cracks or a smooth surface?
Did you bring the shrimp back to the store. If it died while acclimation then they should do something for you. It obviously wasn't your fault.

No unfortunately the hammer is on a stem, the aptasia seems to be growing from one of what appears a similar stem but there is no hammer in the stem. So it is not a smooth surface more like a crack / crevice in the branch. Can you send me a link for this stuff you are referring to Deep just PM me recipe or whatever you are talking about making to kill the Aptasia? I do want to keep the hammer alive. I got the shrimp at closing time so I have it in a container at home. I will have to wait until after work to inquire about a refund on the shrimp. I have my doubts he will refund it.

since the aptasias are on a dead branch the easiest quickest solution would be to cut/break that piece off.

Kind of... wish I had a picture to share but I don't. The aptasia are in an indentation on the main branch that the other hammer comes out of.. good idea though i'll see what I can do.
