Default Filter?

Just picked up a 60 mm macro for my xti, is there a filter that I should be using?? Just hung my Halides, pics comin soon.

I have a lens filter (uv) i believe is a 58mm uv filter , cost $12 , Now im not sure t that is the correct one to use , when i bought my 100mm macro lens its was the one they said worked good with that lens. Got mine for B&H , so i went with what they said
