nice pics i have 3 defrent poin and shot cameras and they are really good to

now one of my lates one with my nikon D40

Isn't the Nikon D40 an SLR cam?

First I would like to say that i don't know much about cameras. Do you guys use filters on your point and shoot cameras because the colors just aren't as good on my pics and so many I have seen. I have a Cannon s5 is

what setting at you taking the pic with ? and are you using a tripod ?

I do use a tripod with no flash. The s5 has an aquarium setting but that doesnt seem to work very well and i have tried to use portrait and some of the others never with very colorful results.
