Moidol, the whole trick to getting great color is a nutrient balancing act.
Not all corals respond the same and tinkering with nutrient levels that are either too high or too low can put you in danger of killing everything. So many variables your head will spin ![]() I choose to play it safe lately and keep a very low nutrient level. My colors are lighter that I would like but the corals grow faster, and IME (in the type of environment) the survival rate on my acros is awesome. |

another thing I dont understand is I added a 37 g tank sharing the same sump, rocks r from the org display tank. only difference are added extra 37g water(TDS reading 0,alk,cal.mag par matched), a week later I get green alge in small tank and red slime in big tank and some sps browning out.

Hmmm....weird. If you have SPS browning out in your main display check every possibility for a source of phosphate. I would change the GFO and do a water change as well.
FYI Rowa and Phosban don't last nearly as long as stated. In a tank with a heavy bio-load it could be exhusted as soon as 2 weeks. |
