I got the poker chips idea from my LFS...they have been using this method for years with out any issues...So I thought I would continue it on...I have had no negative results...their is no paint on them they are molded plastic......
Thanks for the kind words Ronen, I am really happy with the way the tank is coming along too...Did you see the pic of the Calcium Reactor sitting underneath the refugium...Its not hooked up yet, I Just picked it up this weekend...Need to go get the CO2 Bottle, the Electronic Regulator and my PH/Ozone Controller...

The bulb for the Chaeto is a 16 watt Compact Fluorescent Energy Saving Bulb it apparently has the same output as a 65 watt bulb, really puts out a nice color. It has a 5100K Light Spectrum, it has a built in reflector and I just plugged it into a work light fixture that is good for up to 75 watts...the light bulb was made by Sylvania and I bought it at lowes for $5.95 on clearance from $9.99 a bulb...

Yeah, I have been pretty lucky with this setup so far..Its gonna suck if I ever move though...I will have to have a new custom stand made to be able to fit everything in one place if I dont find a home with a similar set up...

Looking good GS. Is that a bubble algea i see? You have no idea how much i hate them.
Why don't you use rock rubble instead of the chips? Go to your lfs and get the broken pieces from the bottom of the live rock vats.

Make sure you stay on top of the bubble algea, that crap will easily take over.

Oh the bubble algae should get taken care of with the 4 new emerald crabs, otherwise hopefully the Phosban Reactor I am putting in will help as well...
The Sea Horse tank is stil under construction, well the tank is done but I am still working on the sump and then I need to run the plumbing...wont be too much longer...I will post new pics this week sometime when I finish the sump..
