Shout Box
I just want to voice my opinion that closing the Shoutbox is a bad idea.
I believe that people are not visiting the shoutbox often is just a small trend that we have encountered. I expect more people to come to this site as soon as the presidential race ends, economy allows for a hobby like reef keeping to run. I think that taking the shoutbox off, however, alienates many of the people from this site. some users do not even post there, choosing to view other shouts and discussions. the shoutbox was a large part of this site, and removing it has alienated certain users.

shoutbox is gone....?!?!?!
thats crazY!! I always used the shoutbox to get help from others on the spot. I also voiced my opinions on the questions other reefers had. Plus the banana smily's were fun to randomly post. Why is it off?!  |

I dont think it was big part of the site , to be honest. It was dead spot on the home page for some time now . Im sorry to say , its only an issue when its not part of the site. The shoutbox has been nothing but an issue on the back end for us.
I dont think it will hurt the site. as only a hand full of ppl used it from time to time. I do think not having the shoutbox will make the site better. Most of the members don't use the shoutbox and some even think the things said at time are not proper for a reef site I wont close this thread . there is no need for name calling either , no one has gone in that direction. btw Calling names is not voicing your opinion

Well it seems like ur really the only person that is saying it is not a big part of this site, when WE "the people" are telling you it is........... Obviously you DON'T care about what other people like/say....... True fact..

I dont think we should let this debate get out of hand, no name calling or anything...
I just believe that although a dozen or two dozen people regularly use the shoutbox, many others simply vie the discussions and shouts. Users that were constantly are on the SB could be: SulfurAcid Daffydanny Akma fishkeeper deep pnoy grknyer gsago other Premium members and may use it from now and then to discuss tank questions or tank emergencies. When I had my tank emergency, I posted a thread, and it took a day for someone to respond. When there was a SB, and I had a simple question, not an emergency, there was a response within 30 seconds. I think that we should bring back the old shoutbox, and that is my opinion.

why not a chat room we can create a chat room on mrc and just log in to it with out charging the site with the box
BTW the box is the cooles part of the site lol

Why is My name is on that list above?? Sulfur I will sue you for not getting my consent to include me .  I have never used that shoutbox and I guess I never will now. guy's i think the shout box is in the past. i would just let it go, Jorge and ronen as admins have the right to make that decision, Werther they get less or more hits on the site is something they have to deal with. at this point they have made there decision so were beating a dead horse.
