Default How many for a 24g?

Hey, How many snails and what kind would you recommend for a 24g tank? With about 2-3 fish max? If you can give me a list with price's shipped to New Jersey 07083, you can PM if you like...

I am fixing up/repairing a 24g atm so I will be in the market for snails in about a month..

Let me know, John

Off the top of my head for a young tank like yours diatom blooms will be the first problem you have, so you will want ceriths as your staple. If I were you I would get this as a basic cleanup crew:

6-8 Nassarius, depending on the fish and how you feed.
50 Smaller Ceriths, or 10 Larger Ceriths, and 30 Smaller Ceriths
10 Nerites

That will keep the tank clean, and keep the diatoms down. If you want to add diversity you should get:

6 Nassarius, depending on the fish and how you feed.
10 Larger Ceriths, (at least one stocky, one florida, and one fly speckled) and 30 Smaller Ceriths
5 Nerites
1 Chiton
2 Limpets
10 Planaxis

Tell me which package you are interested in and I will get you a quote. I got some mangroves as well that will help keep the nutrients that algae feed on down.

I would say get 5 astrea snails and a small emerald crab along with a tail spot blenny and 1 blue legged hermit crab and you will be just fine.. That arrangement above will have you cleaning up so much snail poop you are going to want to kill them.
