Mushrom Propagation: What am I doing wrong?

Ok I have tried Keeping mushrom in a shot glass with rubble, Veil on the rock , Glue, splitting the mushrom, keeping it whole, yet I cant manage to get one to attach to rock. The only thing I manage to do is to make mushroom goo after a couple of weeks. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?

I really dont know what to say. I have had success using a shot glass and the veil on a rock. Should only take a few days. Perhaps the flow is too much on them. Maybe someone else can chime in and give you a definate answer.

dont feel bad , ive tried all the above , only had success with a few , most just got away

the method i use is preety simple . after i cut the mushrooms off i get a old pair of stockings (from the wifey of course lol), a piece of rock and place them together ,i tie off the stocking place it in the tank anywhere from mid range to the top and three days later they have stuck. theres always one stubborn one that doesnt but you can always place it back and wait

I actually just got done. Doing the same thing if the mushroom isn't completly happy as in flow and light it will take longer for them to attach. I personally use a tupper ware small bowl and rubble with screen for a window over it. If conditions r right they will be good in about a week. When I first placed them they where getting to much flow they stayed small and weren't attaching themselves then I moved them up into high lite low flow like really low flow once they got big and happy they attached. Remember be pattient don't keep figgiting with them and leave whatever you put them in alone....... Good Luck

well For the last 3 weeks I had 3 shoot glasses with 3 different mushrooms in different places with same result..mushroom goo. The 3 mushrooms were originally detached from rocks abd the foot was intact, are you guys cutting the discs off? or reataching the whole mushroom?

Well my mushrooms originally came off because I put them in an area with to much flow so they naturally detached. So mine where not cut in anyway. If you cut them on the staulk your gonna have gew while it heels. Just turkey bast the gew off every once in a while and once there heeled and happy they'll attach.... Hope this helps

you would also have to make sure the mushroom is getting enuff but not too much flow
