anyone know anemones?? RBTA??
got a problem (maybe ) with my RBTA. last week it spawned ... spewing out a bunch of sperm about my tank. made a mess of my skimmer. but we got it all out. anyway, in the next few days he started deflating just after the sunlight passed across the tank. ( my tank gets a few hours a day of natural sunlight) and he has been doing this every day. deflates for a few hours up to 8. and then puffs right back up again looking normal as always.. color looks good. not bleached, all bubbles are there when he is puffed up. just deflates everyday. now today I added a metal halide light to the tank thinking it was a lighting problem. and sure enough he stayed up the entire time I had the MH on. I shut the light off tonight and within an hour of shutting it down. he deflated again?????
strange behavior. I have only had him for a few weeks. I am suspecting insufficient light. or he could be getting ready to split maybe?? not sure..
any advice?

I have RBTA in my main tank with MH. Also have RBTA and GBTA in my fragtank only with T5. Guess which on looks better? BTAs under T5.

I can see that ,,, sometimes i think MH can be too much. as we can never give them what nature does

I can see both.. from what I have read. MH is closer to natural sunlight than T5. and again I LOVE the "shimmer" you get from MH . but each has its own characteristics.. but have you ever seen an anemone deflate that often? I could see once in a while to expel waste but daily??? strange

The one thing I do know about anemones is that they LOVE my powerhead and get sucked in it lol had 1 and it did that and never bought 1 again until I become a little more experienced with them but by reading this I wanna ask how long did u have it when it started to do this? Maybe it was acclimating itself to the new water and lights???
