Lee's Skimmer - first skimmer I ever got, then upgrade to seaclown, finally got a Remora, works great. No complaints, working for me for the last 3+ years

When I first switched my 55 gallon Tanganyikan tank over to a reef I bought one of these. I thought it was the best way to really get some great and random flow into my reef. Ugh this thing clogged and jammed up after only 2 weeks. I looked around on the internet and found most people had the same experience. What a waste.

FWIW a Maxi-jet with a hydor flo is a far better investment.
Funny you say that....my has done wonderful so far for the last 2 months

After more careful thought and consideration I think the worst purchase I have made for my reef tank, was going through the pain in the butt of converting from cannister to refugium with a gravity overflow instead of just purchasing the Reef Ready tank...it was probably the worst Idea for a DIY I have had....lesson learned...Nothing but reef ready for me now...

Coralife Super Skimmer 65 is the worst peice of equipment I ever bought. No matter what I added to the tank wether it was water or an additive it always over flowed.

  1. CORALIFE SUPER SKIMMER - NEEDLE WHEEL - For tanks up to 125 gallons.
  2. SEIO SUPER FLOW powerhead Model 820
  3. HYDOR Rotating Water Deflector (keeps jamming up)

I thought SS 65 was good until I bought a skimmer that actually worked. Was I wrong.
