What is the Worst piece of equipment you've bought?
I think mine was the Zoomed Powersweep.
http://www.zoomed.com/html/powersweep.php
When I first switched my 55 gallon Tanganyikan tank over to a reef I bought one of these. I thought it was the best way to really get some great and random flow into my reef. Ugh this thing clogged and jammed up after only 2 weeks. I looked around on the internet and found most people had the same experience. What a waste.
FWIW a Maxi-jet with a hydor flo is a far better investment.

In my first fowlr setup i had the seaclone skimmmer. Worst skimmer ever created. IT took close to two weeks to fill collection cup.

Either the Prizm Pro Hang On Protein Skimmer or my Excaliibur SV-2 In Sump Skimmer, its kind of a toss up they both sucked, all though the Prizm did actually fill the collection cup about once or twice a week, where the Excalibur never has...

I have tried the seaclone skimmer and zoomed powerhead.
Both are horrible
On the other hand, there are mods to make them slightly more decent
