Default Xenia Problem

We've all been to LFS and seen Xenia's pulsating like crazy but in my tank the xenia's are still until the lights turn off and then they pulsate like crazy. Why plusate only at night?

mine pulse w/ the flow and close at night. I have 2 different types that go w/ flow and close at lights out.
Try moving them if you can, mine have left their original rocks anw migrated to others ( not spreadind, moving)

Yeah my xenia's have moved too and they are in the flow of my powerheads but for some odd reason they only pulse at night which has happened various times at night when I do my shark feedings

Mine are at the top of the tank a little off center in decent flow, but not direct flow. They have spread pretty well, and are always pumping.
I don't believe they like direct flow! When I've placed the flow directly at them more or less 2' away they stopped pumping. Lower in the tank, and they get leggy.

So my conclusion of this is that they love light, and indirect flow.

dude, can you put it on the rock where the frogspawn is? That is way high up, and there is plenty of flow and space between sweeper tentacles.

My powerhead has contact with my xenia's which are in the current more than my frogspawn. I just draw a flat out blank when I see my xenia's pulsating when my lights go off.

heh, for an experiment, switch the lights on at night, and keep them off at day, and see what happens
