Default Pump Room Re Organization

Ok all, I am looking to reorganize my pump room so that my equipment is using a smaller footprint than my current layout...See Below for current layout.

Click the image to open in full size.

So my goal is to make it a lot cleaner, shorter plumbing lines and move everything into one foot printed area to free up space in my basement.

Here is a diagram of what I have come up with so far. I am looking for any suggestions as to improving this layout.

Please let me know what you all think...

I like your setup but that must smell! I can see my wife now,

"you're not seriously just going to have the protein skimmer dump into a bucket on the floor. Isn't that stuff fish poop? You're seriously just going to keep a bucket of fish poop in the basement?"

Do you have any problems with evaporation? I'm setting up a basement sump and I'm worried about mold etc from the excess moisture.

Could u free up some of the plumbing by creating a gravity feed from the grow-out tank into the refugium? That would be more compact, if I am not mistaken.

I was trying to think about that one if it would work or not, I am concerned that the heights on the 10 and 20 gallon tanks are so close that Im not sure I could get away with it. I think once I drill the 20 gallon and line them up I will have a better idea of what I can get away with...

No smell at all from the Skimmate...its pretty odor free overall....
The wife complains more about all the space taken up by the 65 gallon water storage container..

Hence the reason for this project...

If she's complaining about the water jug, try to mount it under the aquarium sumps and refugiums, attach it to a pump, and just switch on the pump whenever you need some nice, filtered, dihydrogen monoxide(water).

I think If I can mount the water jug on the top level, the refugium and the growth tank in the middle and leave the sump where it is on the ground I can make it work without adding any pumps, and only having to slightly modify my plumbing...

Here's how I'm doing mine
The 2 rubbermaid Brute cans go underneath the stand. The stand is about 36" high and that's what the 75 gallon tank, skimmer and pump sit on. I'll probably cut back the skimmer's output to be behind the baffles.

Yea, i saw ur drawing, i just didnt realize it was a 3d drawing. i thought tht was going to be a floorplan, and not a shelving system.

That is going to be a trick to mount the water jug, you are going to need to do something heavy guty, like lag bolt the shelving into the concrete.

Good luck, keep me posted.
