Default Drilling glass and stuff

When you guys drill glass what do you use to hold the water around the hole while you drill? I've heard of people using "putty" but what exactly is putty and where do I get some?

Feel free to chime in if you have a better recommended practice for someone drilling their first hole.

Go to the plumbing supply section of any home and garden stroe otr pumbing supply house and ask for Plumbers Putty, You could use any kind of clay, you could use playdough if you had to. You're only purpose is to created a dam around the area to be drilled.
