Default Scratches on glass tanks? How to remove..

Hey all, I have a 24g aquapod with pretty noticable scratches on the inside of tank.. is there a safe way to remove the scratches without killing livestock?

If they ar not deep enuff you can buff it out , But it can make the glass look distorted .

you would also have to drain the tank completely

Absolutely not.

Many of the abrasives used have petrolium products in them. You would have to break the tank down to buff out scratches, unless there is some new miracle abrasives out that I don't know about.

ive heard of an acid etch that takes scratches out, but that brings up a different problem. also there is a polymer filler that came out by marineland for filling scratches. dunno if you need to break the tank down.

Do not use sand paper on glass, you will go from bad to worse. Your very best bet is to replace the tank, if you try to buff it or fill the scratches you may make things worse and you will need to have the tank empty, clean and dry with the scratched surface laying flat. It is hard to work on a vertical surface and fillers will simply run out. This could also be a great time to change your nano size/shape or upgrade to a larger tank.
