Salt: Get Tanked Aquariums
Does anybody uses GetTankedAquariums salt, I purchased the 2 part calcium/alk from him, he sent me a free trial of salt to make 25g of water... after I mixed and added the water tested params everything was perfect....
is not that much more than Reef Crystals I use, I am thinking to make the trip and pick up a couple of boxes (each box makes 6 25g mixes) since shipping is expensive, he is near Harrisburg PA.
Anyone has experience with this salt?
Kelvin.

I haven't tried it, but there are some folks on njreefers.org that are trying to test it out.
I think they were trying to do a GB or something. Someone over there knows the fellow personally.
Lol, I was thinking about buying it and starting new.
How do you mix the salt up? The website says the calcium is seperate from the salt itself. So do you mix the salt normally, then later add in the calcium as an additive? Or what? The website doesn't explain so I'm not sure what I could assume.
I'll go check out what the njr thread says if you haven't seen it.
--OK, so far they are talking about it, and trying out sample packs. I'm going to email them directly and see what shipping is to my zip (07104)

I know Stan (Paintman) has been using this for quite a while now, IIRC you mix the salt, then the Ca.
By keeping the Ca seperate, there is an ingredient, that is present i most salt mixes to keep the salt from clumping, missing from this salt mix. From what I remember it was a somewht undesirable additive.

Wow! I just had a GREAT conversation with the maker of this salt. He really is on top of his stuff, has tanks he cares about and uses his own products on those tanks.
If you have questions, seriously, call him. I'm putting in my order tonight, and should have the salt pretty soon. I'll keep everyone updated.
So far though...customer service is A++++++++

btw, he is also about to put GFO up! I just happened to need some
"GETTANKEDAQUARIUMS.com Home of Saltwater Correct Products"
If anyone would be interested in a group buy...like many cases all together, shipping could be as low as $7 per case.... I know that comes later, once we're sure we like it ENOUGH but just so you know, I'll be willing to do it.

Lol, yup I would.
Even though I JUST bought some (bought last night at 9ish pm, and it was sent out today via UPS), I would go ahead and get if not 1 full case (150g worth) the 60g worth.
To set up my new tank, I'll have to use about 60g worth of the salt. If I keep up my old tank/set up one I just picked up today I'd be using another 60g worth by time fall comes. So I could go with either. Lol, so that's possibly the end of my 150g mix by time October comes!
He said he knows a shipping company that has good deals once you reach a half skid or full skid, which is around 45-100 cases for a full skid. I'm sure there should be another way about it as well
Btw, Just read NJreef thread again. Garry (maker of this salt), just became a sponsor over there, and they are going to do a GB with shipping to a member that lives about 2hrs away from me (in Newark, NJ), but comes into Edison NJ once a month because of his job.
I don't know how folks feel about doing team group buys...but...I know a few reefers here are on that site as well.
Lol, I had planned on meeting up with the fellow in Edison at some point to do the same thing. It's more efficient.
I will update once I get it

Wow!!!
I just came from receiving my order from UPS outside of my door.
That was fast. I just ordered the stuff!
Anyway, got the salt, I got the gfo and carbon and I got samples!!!
The samples are of kalkwasser,ph UP, Boron, seaweed and the 2 part kit (w/magnesium).
AND An extra pack of samples to share!!!
Not sure who to share with, but I'll figure it out.
I'm due to get my new RO/DI unit in the mail some time this week, thought I'd have it before the salt!

Definitely will.
Also, the GB on njreefers is starting. Garry is now a sponsor on that site. Pick up is likely the 4th friday of next month. 10% off the highest price of what it is you want to purchase. Plus of course free shipping. You just need to pick it up from Rbu in Edison NJ or have someone pick it up for you.
I don't know if I'll be in town, I think I will. I'll look at a calendar later, but if anyone in the NYC area/someone closer to me that wants in on it but can't reach edison, I can pick it up if you need someone. I live in newark, and that's merely a path ride in or I live like...20mins off the GWB.
