hello its me again how long do i run my lights on the tank
im getting growth but some green algae on the sand 150 watt metal halides are my lights

I keep my VHO on from 845am to 830pm and MH gos on 10am to 130pm in the summer , winter the MH are on from 1145am to 545 pm

there could be other reasons why you may get that green algae on the sand. Do oyu know the parameter of your tank. nitrates, phosphates etc , What filtration are you using (skimmer sump ,fuge) also flow , do you have alot or alittle flow

and a clean up crew is a must. sand sifters critters , hermits crabs and snails will help clean the sand bed and live rock
