I on a whim purchased a single green clove polyp. In the frag tank it was in, it looked awesome, being a single polyp, like a lonely rose in a field of grass. That was over lunch and I'm always curious when I buy corals over lunch, if they'll open just on my office lighting so I set the bags on my desk. It opened slightly.

When I got home, I did a water change and then drip acclimated it for about an hour. Placed it in a high flow high light area (t5 lighting so I know Im' not cooking it) and it has yet to open. I bought it Wednesday. Any suggestions?
For what it's worth, the water it came in was 1.023 and that's right where mine is as well.

Green Clove Polyp, Coverdularis spp., is a hardy coral choice that will thrive in most aquarium conditions. They are also known as Encrusting Polyps, as it ships with a number of the eight-tentacled "blooms" attached to Live Rock. Members of the Coverdularis species require only a moderate water flow and a moderate amount of lighting, making them ideal for placement at most any level of the aquarium. However, if lighting levels are high, placement should be in the lower levels. Because the polyp tentacles are often stung by nearby corals, specimens should be kept an adequate distance from other corals. Although micro-plankton and brine shrimp will supplement the diet of the Polyp Corals, naturally-occuring zooxanthellae and microalgae will provide much of its diet. This species is a great choice for aquarists of all experience levels.

haha Thanks sausagemeister! I read that page Wednesday when I got it. When I say high flow and high light, it's mid way up in my tank and my flow is slightly inadequate anyway but it's in the path of the flow. I figure since I'm not a halide owner and don't have massive powerheads, I'm medium to low light/flow already.

LMAO...i did this one, except it was forgot to take the frag out of the bag and left if floating in my refugium overnight...LOL..

Frag came out ok though so dont worry...
