WoW that setup looks pretty damn insane. I am a huge fan of DIY projects.
What color did you spray on the back of the acrylic panes in the doors?

Thanks! The back of the acrylic was painted silver metallic. The best I can describe it to you is the color that some towers and laptops are painted.

Bumping my question about what size loc-lines to use with this setup. Currently have 3/4 bulkheads but shoudl I use splitters that cut it down to 1/2?

Tank is up and running. Heres a picture of the sump. Problem is im getting lots of air and bubbles coming from the left side drain. I can get less bubbles by closing the ball valve but then overflow water level goes too high (almost level with tank water).

Looks to me that you have too much water in the sump. Water should be just above the first baffle.

Update. I didnt originally plan on using filter socks but I am now since it cuts down on micro bubbles and definately helps keep the sump clean. I have 15 pounds of live rock to add but its currently cycling in a bucket. I plan on doing two islands once its done. Heres my very first FTS and some corals I have. Enjoy.

I liked your tank and setup when I saw it in person but now reading this thread I appreciate it even more. Great job and even though the stand looks excellent it looks so much better in person.

Update.

I added the rest of the live rock and aquascaped. What do you all think? (sorry for crappy photo. Best I can do without PS)

This is with just actinics on. I think im going to buy a reeflux 12k or phoenix 14k bulb since the current usa 10k bulb is too white.

I plan to add a bunch of sps on top and keep everything else on the lower sections.

Im also trying to catch my emerald crab. He just molted and is huge. I think hes starting to eat polyps.
