Default info please

hey all! new here at this site, my first post is a question. i am new to the hobby as well (1 mo.) have a 125 swim tank and 150 reef tank, so far so good, corals are doing great, im educating myself as quickly as i can, the gentleman who sold me the tanks has been helpful. the swim tank came with fish (yellow and sailfin tangs approx. 5" ea. /cor. beauty/foxface/flame ang./) and a couple others. i purchased a naso tang on the 21st (4 days ago) and this a.m. i found him at the bottom gasping, he is now gone. water was tested about a week ago, nothing drastic, ph @ 7.8 used some 8.3 buffer, calcium is a little high, all within an acceptable range, at least from what ive been told, did i make a mistake in itroducing this fish into my tank? with the other tangs? i am trying to figure out what went wrong here, he was doing fantastic yesterday, no one seemed to be bothering him.

Welcome aboard !

if a fish dies a few days after doesnt mean you did anything wrong. The fish could of been stressed out already from being shipped and taken out of its environment. then shipped to the lfs then bagged again coming to your tank. these fish really go thru so much before actually geting to a new home , if they make it that is

Did you ask to feed the fish before buying it to see if it was eating , do you see any of the fish attacking the tang being its the new fish in the tank .
