i have had it 2 weeks now and just yesterday it started looking limp.
are these expert only corals?

i did get this from my lfs, so it did not get shipped to me.

i do dose pro buffer
55w/260w cpct fl, ntrite-0,a-0,ph-8.2,nitrate-15

is it the nitrates?

Have you changed anything recently? Water change, Carbon, GFO? Sudden changes can cause them to stress. On the contrary they are quite easy corals, well for most they are.

Xenia often will grow great for people only to die out with no explanation, many times it will grow back after a few weeks. I had a colony come back from a speck the size of a Pinhead after a crash.

The general consensus is that Xenia do like and consume Nitrates.

Some people curse them because the grow out of control, others hate them because they can't keep them alive no matter what they do.

make sure they are not in direct water flow. As far as them looking limp, they do that often. Do you have a pic of the xenia? What kind are they ( pom pom, elongata)?

Mine are in pretty good current and look pretty happy. My nitrates right now are a little above 5. I can't see the picture.
